KrAZ trucks were used in almost all the armed conflicts and wars at the end of 20th and the beginning of 21st centuries. They were in service of Ukrainian Peacekeeping Forces in Sierra Leone, Lebanon, Kosovo, Iraq, Afghanistan and Indonesian Peacekeeping Forces in Sudan.

An experience of service in the armies of various world countries and use during combat operations show that KrAZ trucks tackle tough jobs under the harshest environmental conditions: desert, jungle, mountains. They are reliable workers operating over temperature range from -50 to +65⁰С; an altitude up to 5 000 m above sea level, water barrier up to 1,5 m and snow cover up to 0,6 are no obstacles for them. For better off-road ability over low bearing capacity soils, the military KrAZ trucks are provided with centralized tyre inflation system.

Cab-behind engine design of Kremenchug trucks is a huge advantage on the battlefield, as it provides reliable protection for the crew. Combatants say that mine blast under the vehicle destroys front axle but occupants survive though deafened by explosion. KrAZ hood is called by soldiers “1,5 meters of life” for a reason.

Today’s KrAZ trucks are in service with the armies of 36 countries, including Armed Forces of Ukraine, Georgia, Iraq, Egypt, India, Yemen, Angola, Nigeria. They are used for carrying cargoes and personnel, towing artillery systems and trailers with gross weight ranging from 12 to 75 tons, accommodating electronic warfare systems and various combat systems including Multiple Rocket Launch System БМ-21 Grad and Air Defense System С300. They are also used for towing aircrafts with gross weight up to 100 tons.

Today, amid local wars and military conflicts, a need emerged for armored trucks, for this reason, “AutoKrAZ” and its partners proceeded to build vehicles provided with base and additional armor kits.

We would find difficulty to quarrel with the following statement of well-respected journalist F.Kirichuk: “KrAZ traditionally maintains advantages of vehicles designed for tough use over rugged terrains… You can hardly find today more affordable, reliable and more multi-purpose vehicles for war. KrAZ off-road trucks are truly named Special Task Force of automotive industry of CIS countries”.
