According to Development Plan for current year, “AutoKrAZ” has developed and built the 4х2 KrAZ-5401Н2 versatile chassis cab. This chassis cab is unique due to use of lighter units for the first time ever. The chassis suspension weight greatly reduced, side members are made from lighter high-strength cold-formed channel bar (Voestalpine AG, Austria) instead of hot rolled channel. KrAZ workers believe that decrease in chassis weight by 1100 kg with increase in specific payload capacity is a great achievement, while reliability and ruggedness remain the same.

Chassis cab is provided with MAN cab upon request of customers. This cab offers excellent value  for money, ergonomic driver’s workplace due to use of comfortable air-suspended seat, height and tilt adjustable steering column, functional dashboard. What’s more, this cab sits low on the chassis, 2960 mm, (just to compare: the KrAZ-6511С4  - 3050 mm), it allows using a wide range of body structures, including cranes. Wide windshield offers excellent visibility. 

The KrAZ-5401Н2 chassis cab offers maximum commonality and customization to various power packs and special body structures.  The prototype  is provided with the YaMZ-536 6-cylinders turbocharged engine (Еuro-4) rated at 312hp, the MFZ-430 clutch and  the 9JS119TA-B transmission. The chassis cab will be converted to refrigerated van made by leading domestic manufacturer.

Upon customer’s request, these chassis cabs can be provided with Weichai or Deutz engines and over 30 special body structures with weight of up to 10 tonnes for use in urban cycle.
