KrAZ-Bolivia: Prospects for Cooperation

Last week “Foreign Trade Firm “KrAZ” senior officers paid three-day visit to MultinationalState of Bolivia on invitation of Bolivian part. The visit was aimed at discussing establishment of KrAZ assembly plant in the territory of this country.  Moreover, the matter concerns establishment of plant for assembly of vehicles for both military and civil sectors.

During their visit to the Multinational State of Bolivia KrAZ senior officers had a series of meetings with officials of the Ministry of Industry and Economics, Ministry of Public Works, the Commander-in-Chief and Parliamentary Committee for Industry.    

In the course of bilateral negotiations, it was mentioned that SKD assembly of heavy-duty trucks is a project of high priority for Bolivian state in relation to the policy of Evo Morales, president of the MultinationalState of Bolivia, which is aimed at industrialization and development of high technologies. “AutoKrAZ” fits in economic development plans of the Bolivian government with regard to establishment of assembly plant with high level of domestic content. KrAZ trucks produced in Bolivia will meet both internal demand and needs of Latin America in heavy-duty trucks.  

The negotiations resulted in series of agreements concerning amongst others development of cooperation in KrAZ trucks assembly project implementation. Taking into consideration success in establishment of assembly pants in Vietnam and Cuba and high level of expertise in SKD assembly both parties count on successful project execution.
