Gorishni Plavni Get New Sewage Suction Vehicle

05 April, 2018

“AutoKrAZ” transferred the КО-503 multi-purpose vehicle based on two-axle KrAZ chassis to municipal company “Water and Sewage Department” of Gorishnie Plavni City Council.

This special vehicle is used for cleaning wells, storm drains, sewage collectors and wet pits from sludge, deposition and other impurities.

12 tonne KrAZ-5401 chassis provided with equipment made by “Spetsbudmash” is the most popular with city crews. It is provided with standard equipment and used for conversions.

Special sewage suction equipment includes a tank, a vacuum pump with drive system, a boom, hydraulic, air and electrical systems and auxiliary equipment. The boom is controlled from remote control panel, sludge is disposed by dumping.

The novelty has been checked out by City Council officials headed by Chairman Dmitriy Bykov who said after vehicle acceptance: “We are glad that the contract has been awarded to the company that is located in neighboring and friendly Kremenchug and is a key automaker. We back domestic manufacturers not in word but in deed, particularly, by purchasing up-to-date municipal vehicle made at “KrAZ”. The vehicle is good, we need it and havewaited for it since long time ago because we have got lots of pressing issues and we are unable to resolve them without this sewage suction vehicle.” In turn, operators stressed a major advantage of new sewage suction truck, its suction depth. Sewage collectors have been laid at the depth from 6 to 10 m during town construction and common vehicles cannot tackle this problem. For this reason, the vehicle ordered has particular features: it can clean collectors at a depth of up to 12 m and pump a solid mass such as sand, broken stone and concrete. What is more, in winter period it is provided with snow plough for snow clearing.

City crews of Gorishnie Plavni wait for another vehicle, gully cleaner. Both these vehicles will provide more efficient cleaning of the town’s sewage network.
